Paddock/Palos Park Woods South, Saturday April 20
We worked with a terrific group of ladies from the Bridgeview community on Saturday, loved their energy and enthusiasm. Thanks to Maryam Salem for putting this group together, we look forward to doing it again.

We stayed close to the parking lot, clearing honeysuckle just east of the parking lot in the direction of 119th Street and the Montessori school. Lots of spring ephemerals showed their faces. After break we took a short walk on the multi-use trail and got to view some  local wildlife, which, in this case, included equestrians, runners, and mountain bikers. This trail never lacks users on a sunny spring morning.

Hammocking
The hammock season officially opened at 11:00 a.m. Easter Sunday, when I hung straps from two trees at home and unfurled the new, purple hammock. This is the best time of year to lie on your back and stare up at the sky. The canopy hasn't filled in, the afternoons are cool, and insects aren't yet active.

q. What do you do when people gift you with hammocks though you already have one?

a. Rotate 'em.
