Margaret made the best of a muddy mess this morning, returning to the area we worked a month ago for further cleanup. Doug cut brush, FOTFP sawyers chopped up some of the trees dropped last time, and the rest of us hauled and pitched with abandon. Good times!
Swallow Cliff Woods South March 19
We are just short of one target, the picnic grove lot on the east edge of our work area. This Sunday we should finish that, and push to the north down the slope. We've had the good fortune of working with some enthusiastic, energetic new volunteers.
Black Partridge Woods March 19
John and volunteers cut in the brushy area near the old home site, the spot he's been working in recent months. He had two new volunteers, several of the regulars, and reported making progress in opening up the area.
Paddock Woods March 22
We cut and burned honeysuckle, including some hefty ones, and euonymus along the trail in the southeast corner of the preserve. John Plunkett on the chainsaw was a blessing in piecing some of the bigger stuff.
