We had a larger volunteer group this week, welcome news and somewhat unexpected on a holiday weekend. Our target remains the robust population of white sweet clover on the prairie and we chipped away at a bit more of it on Saturday. We will return this Saturday, July 13 for another bite.
It's hard to overstate how good the prairie looks this year, with native wildflowers enjoying their first of several recent years not stymied by periods of spring drought. I need to go back to some early July pictures from those years because my impression is that plants are taller this time around.
